The Recon Ride: Tested for the American Rider

Creating a tour of this magnitude isn’t something we take lightly. To ensure the experience lives up to your expectations, we conducted a Recon Ride—a full-scale test of every aspect of the tour. Riding on the same bikes our customers will use—Harley-Davidson touring bikes, Goldwings, and BMW touring bikes—we mapped and tested every step of the journey.

Here’s what we evaluated:

• Road Conditions: Are the roads smooth and enjoyable for larger bikes?
• Fueling Procedures: How easy is it to refuel, and how do European systems compare to what we’re used to in the States?
• Hotel Accommodations: Are the hotels comfortable and biker-friendly?
• Restrooms and Facilities: Are rest stops frequent, clean, and accessible?
• Scenic and Historical Stops: Do key locations along the route add depth and meaning to the experience?
